Overview
Noida (New Okhla Industrial Development Authority) is a planned city in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, on the south-eastern edge of Delhi. Founded in 1976 as an industrial township, it has grown into a major hub for IT companies, electronics and mobile-phone manufacturing, media houses and education.
Wide roads, sectors laid out on a grid, the DND Flyway and the Delhi Metro's Blue and Aqua lines connect it with Delhi and Greater Noida. Landmarks include the Okhla Bird Sanctuary on the Yamuna and the Botanical Garden.
Getting there & around
The Delhi Metro (Blue Line) and the Noida Metro Aqua Line link Noida to Delhi and Greater Noida, and the Noida–Greater Noida Expressway connects to the Yamuna Expressway towards Agra.
